1. Information we collect
1.1 Game data stored on your device (all players)
The Game stores the following on your device so it can remember your game:
- Game progress: levels unlocked and completed, your best score and coins for each level, your coin balance, shop items you own and have equipped, and the city you selected.
- Settings: sound, music and vibration on/off.
- Whether you have seen the tutorial, and how many times you dismissed the offer to save your progress online.
If you do not sign in, this data stays on your device. It is removed when you uninstall the Game or clear its data in Android settings.
1.2 If you sign in with Google (optional)
When you choose to sign in, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture link with the Game, and Firebase Authentication creates a City Hopper account with a unique user ID. While you are signed in:
- On your device we store your user ID, name, email address, profile picture link and a sign-in token that keeps you signed in between sessions. Signing out removes them from the device.
- In Cloud Firestore (Google’s online database) we store an account record containing your name, email address, profile picture link, levels unlocked and completed, coin balance, shop items owned, the time you last played, and, for each level, your best score, best coins and whether you completed it, together with the times these records were last updated.
- Your name and profile picture are shown to you in the Game’s Settings. They are not shown to other players.
- Google, as provider of Firebase Authentication, also processes your IP address and device user agent when you sign in.
1.3 Notifications
On Android 13 and later the Game asks for permission to show notifications; you can refuse. Firebase Cloud Messaging gives the Game a registration token for this installation. If you are signed in, we save that token to your account together with the device platform (Android) and an installation identifier generated by the game engine from your device, so notifications can reach each of your devices. Signing out removes this device’s token from your account. If you never sign in, we do not store the token.
1.4 Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To understand how the Game is played and improve it, the Game records these events:
- a level starting, and a level ending: level number, whether you won or lost, score and coins collected;
- a shop item bought with in-game coins: the item and its price in coins;
- coins earned from a rewarded ad, and the result when you tap to watch an ad;
- signing in with Google; and
- the screens and menus you view.
Google Analytics for Firebase also collects some information automatically, including an app instance ID, your device’s advertising ID and app set ID (where available), device model, operating system version, app version, language, approximate location (country, region or city, derived from your IP address), first launch, sessions and engagement time, and the Google Play install referrer. If you are signed in, your Firebase user ID is attached to analytics as a user ID, along with whether you are signed in. Your email address and name are never sent to analytics.
1.5 Crash and error reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the Game crashes or hits an unexpected error, Firebase Crashlytics receives a report containing the error and stack trace, device model, operating system and app version, device state at the time (such as orientation and available memory and disk space), the scenes you visited just before the error, Crashlytics and Firebase installation identifiers and, if you are signed in, your Firebase user ID.
1.6 Advertising (Google AdMob)
The Game offers rewarded ads: you can choose to watch an ad to earn in-game coins. To have an ad ready, the Game requests ads from Google AdMob in the background while you are in the menus; an ad is only shown when you tap to watch one. Google AdMob collects and processes information such as your device’s advertising ID and app set ID, IP address, device and app information, and your interactions with ads (for example views and clicks), and may use Android’s ad services features (advertising ID, Topics and attribution). Google uses this to deliver, measure and, where permitted, personalise ads and to prevent fraud, as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
1.7 Information we do not collect
The Game does not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, files, camera, microphone, phone number or payment information, and has no in-app purchases.
2. Device permissions
| Permission | Why the Game uses it |
|---|---|
| Internet and network state | Sign-in, cloud save, ads, analytics and crash reports. |
| Notifications | Showing game notifications, only if you allow it. |
| Vibration | Vibration feedback during play. You can turn it off in Settings. |
| Advertising ID and Android ad services | Delivering and measuring ads through Google AdMob, and analytics. |
| Install referrer | Letting Google Analytics for Firebase know how the Game was found on Google Play. |
| Wake lock and foreground service | Used by Google’s libraries to deliver notifications and send reports reliably in the background. |
3. How we use information
- To run the Game and save your progress on your device.
- If you sign in: to create and maintain your account, save your progress online and restore it on your other devices.
- To show rewarded ads you choose to watch and give you the promised in-game reward.
- To send notifications, if you allow them.
- To understand how the Game is played so we can improve levels, features and performance.
- To find and fix crashes and errors.
- To protect the Game and saved progress against tampering, cheating, fraud and abuse.
- To respond to your requests and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information for any purpose that is not described in this policy.
4. How information is shared
We share information only as follows:
- Google LLC, as our service provider, which runs Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics and processes the information described above on our behalf. See Privacy and Security in Firebase.
- Google AdMob, which receives the advertising information described in section 1.6 and uses it as set out in the Google Privacy Policy.
- Google sign-in, which is provided by Google through your Google account and is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
- For legal reasons, if we are required to by law, regulation, legal process or a lawful request from authorities, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our players, us or others.
- If the Game changes hands, as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with any other third parties.
5. How long we keep information
| Information | How long it is kept |
|---|---|
| Game data and settings on your device | Until you uninstall the Game or clear its data. Sign-in details on the device are removed when you sign out. |
| Your account (Firebase Authentication) and cloud save (Cloud Firestore) | For as long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it as described in section 6. Google removes deleted authentication data from its live and backup systems within 180 days, and keeps sign-in IP address logs for a few weeks. |
| Notification tokens | Removed from your account when you sign out or delete your account. Firebase keeps installation IDs until they are deleted, then removes them from live and backup systems within 180 days. |
| Analytics data | No longer than 14 months, the longest retention period Google Analytics for Firebase allows. Aggregated reports that do not identify you may be kept longer. |
| Crash reports | 90 days, after which Google starts removing them from its live and backup systems. |
| Advertising data | Kept by Google as described in the Google Privacy Policy. |
6. Deleting your account and data
When we receive a request, we may reply to confirm it came from the account holder. Within 30 days we will:
- delete your Firebase Authentication account;
- delete your account record from Cloud Firestore, including your name, email address, profile picture link, progress, coin balance, shop items, per-level records and notification tokens; and
- ask Google to delete analytics data associated with your Firebase user ID.
We do not keep any of this data after deletion, except where the law requires us to. Copies in Google’s backup systems and existing crash reports are removed on the schedules in section 5. Deleting your account cannot be undone, and any coins, items and progress saved to it will be lost.
If you never signed in, all your game data is on your device only: uninstall the Game, or go to Android Settings → Apps → City Hopper → Storage → Clear data, to delete it.
7. Security
All information the Game sends to Google’s services travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Our Cloud Firestore security rules allow a signed-in player to read and change only their own account record, and Google encrypts stored data. Your sign-in token is kept in the Game’s private storage on your device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit it to what the Game needs.
8. Children
The Game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has signed in or given us personal information, contact us at sarobitech@gmail.com and we will delete it.
9. Your choices and rights
- Play without an account. Signing in is optional; without it, nothing is saved online.
- Sign out at any time. This removes your sign-in details from the device and detaches the device from your account’s notifications.
- Notifications: turn them off in Android Settings → Apps → City Hopper → Notifications.
- Ads: reset or delete your advertising ID, or limit ad personalisation, in Android Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Security & privacy → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device). Rewarded ads are only shown when you choose to watch one.
- Access, correction and deletion. You can ask us for a copy of the personal information linked to your account, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing sarobitech@gmail.com.
Depending on where you live, including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, and California privacy law, you may have further rights, such as to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to complain to a data protection authority. We will respond to requests within the time the applicable law allows. For grievances about how your personal data is handled, contact us at the same address.
10. International transfers
We are based in India. The Google services the Game uses may store and process information on servers in India and in other countries, including the United States. Google provides safeguards for these transfers as described in its privacy terms.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when the Game adds a feature or a service. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the Game or on its Google Play listing before they take effect.
